On September 14, 2020, a meeting was held between the President of the Polish Youth Association, Jakub Staniewski, and the Consul of the Republic of Poland in Chicago, Mrs. Małgorzata Bąk-Guzik. On behalf of the association, the meeting was also attended by Olivia Żebrowski, Vice-President for Social Affairs and Nicole Zawiliński, Legal Counsel to the President.
During the meeting, the issues of cooperation with youth in the consular district of the Consulate General of the Republic of Poland in Chicago, covering the area of 11 states in the United States, were discussed. The consuls presented their expectations regarding cooperation with young people, and a number of possible opportunities to activate the Polish community abroad through organized networking meetings, inter-school conferences and other similar events were proposed.
The subject of the meeting also included substantive issues related to the branch office in Chicago established by the Polish Youth Association, i.e. a branch whose intended purpose is to support the Polish community youth in the Midwestern part of the United States. The Delegation of the Polish Youth Association will contribute to identifying the specific needs of young people and, through the tasks carried out, involved the Polish community youth in activities related to Poland and Polishness.
