Klaudia Piotrowski

Maja ukończyła Ridgewood High School w New Jersey, a teraz jest studentka na pierwszym roku w University of Scranton w Pensylwanii. Jest na kierunku logopedii i audiologii ze specjalizacją pedagogiczną. Uwielbia pracować z dziećmi, i ma nadzieję, że będzie to kontynuować w swojej przyszłej karierze.  

Przez ostatnie trzy lata, Maja była wolontariuszką w Polskiej Szkole im. Św. Stanisława Kostki w Wallington New Jersey. Asystowała nauczycielom w młodszych klasach, nawiązywała osobiste relacje z uczniami i pomagała im w czytaniu i pisaniu po polsku. Organizowała również gry i zabawy. Obecnie jest skarbnikiem nowego Klubu Polskiego w University of Scranton. Jest bardzo dumna ze swoich polskich korzeni i polskiego obywatelstwa. Czyta, pisze i mówi biegle po polsku.  W zeszłym roku, zdała egzamin zwany „Seal of Biliteracy”, który sprawdzał jej znajomość języka polskiego.   Lubi uczestniczyć w polskich wydarzeniach kulturalnych. Jest dumna z podtrzymywania swoich polskich tradycji.   Jej ulubioną częścią wakacji jest podróż do Polski i spędzanie czasu z najbliższą rodziną i znajomymi.  

Maya graduated from Ridgewood High School in New Jersey, and is currently a freshman at The University of Scranton in Scranton, Pennsylvania.  She is majoring in speech language pathology and audiology with a minor in education.  She is passionate about working with children, and hopes to pursue this in her future career.  

Maya has been a volunteer at Saint Stanislaus Kostka Polish School in Wallington New Jersey for the past three years.  There, she assisted the teachers in grades preK through 1, made connections with the students, and helped them with Polish reading and writing skills.  As well as this, she organized and led games and activities.  She is now the treasurer for the new Polish Club at the University of Scranton.  She is extremely proud of her Polish heritage and loves to share this with others.  She speaks Polish fluently, as well as reads and writes in Polish. Last year, she passed the Polish Seal of Biliteracy assessment.  She enjoys attending Polish cultural events and celebrating her heritage in every way.  She is proud that she and her parents continue Polish traditions.  Her favorite part of summer is vacationing in Poland and visiting her closest family and friends.
