Coordinator of Volunteers
Maxim Sasak was born in Brooklyn, New York. Growing up in Greenpoint, the cradle of Polish society abroad, his culture and identity as a Pole developed and blossomed in tandem with his development. In 2021 he became a member of the Polish Youth Association, serving as the organization’s first Coordinator of Volunteers. A year on, he continues to serve that role, but now he too is a member of the Board of Directors of the Organization. To him, serving as a member of the organization and a key player in it, is perhaps much more than a simple escapade or a “good dead of service”, it is actively serving towards the betterment of Polish society abroad and at home, it is helping to grow the seed of “Polskość” in the hearts and minds of young Poles, and foremost it is the active pursuance of guaranteeing a bright and successful future for all Poles and Poland.
In regard to his past experience, he has served in various leadership positions ranging from cultural institutes and organizations to city-wide institutions. In addition to those, he actively engages in the world of politics on a, for now, local basis, a reality which is most clearly underlined by his time as an intern for Tahanie Aboushi’s campaign for Manhattan District Attorney, and his experience acquired while serving in a variety of positions in the NYC DOE, ranging from student member on the Panel for Educational Policy of the Board of Education to his time as a Staten Island borough representative in the NYC DOE Chancellor’s Student Advisory Council.
He currently studies Political Science and has interests ranging from History to Politics (specifically within the sphere of foreign policy in relation to Central and Eastern Europe), to Economics, Physics, Philosophy, and a majority of the Humanities in general.
The Coordinator of Volunteers is the person who oversees all membership-related aspects of the organization.
