On June 21, 2019, in the Ballroom of the Consulate General of the Republic of Poland in New York, a meeting of representatives of Polish youth with representatives of leading Polish organizations was held for the first time, and at the same time, the official launch of the Polish Youth Association.
The originator and organizer of the meeting was the Polish youth active in the structures of the Association. The conference had a working character. Its purpose was to establish cooperation in undertaking all social activities promoting Polish youth. Among the guests were Mr. Dr. Kamil Henne - Deputy Consul General of the Republic of Poland in New York, Mr. Darek Barcikowski - Grand Marshal of the Pulaski Parade, and, at the same time Honorary Consul of the Republic of Poland, His Excellency - Rev. Bishop Witold Mroziewski, Ms. Dr. Dorota Andraka - President of the Polish Supplementary School Council of America, Ms. Maria Paździor-Marchwiński - CPSD Territorial President for New Jersey and Pennsylvania, as well as Ms. Monika Adamski - Editor-in-Chief of Radio RAMPA, the largest Polish radio station in the United States.
During the meeting, methods of activating Polish youth in the United States were discussed, as the possibilities of cooperation between Polish organizations. Thus, the proper direction of the Polish Youth Association was outlined. Besides, representatives of Polish-American organizations pledged to support the Polish Youth Association financially and in terms of publicity.
During the discussion, new opportunities were identified for young people to develop their talents and personal potential.
They also discussed methods of activating Polish youth and potential opportunities to increase their involvement and interest in so-called "Polish affairs" within the framework of the activities of Polish organizations, especially after graduating from a Polish finishing school.
All agreed that Polish youth should be above all political divisions and diligently continue their work.
At the end of the meeting, thanks were given to the Consul General through Dr. Kamil Henne to the entire team and staff of the Consulate, who contributed in any way to help organize the meeting. Thanks were expressed by Jakub Staniewski - president and also the founder of the Polish Youth Association, stressing that the organization is open to any advice, comments, and actions that can help realize the Association's intentions.
